Volz reported that Kansas has seen considerable success with federal grants, with 49 awards distributed across the state, benefiting both small and large communities.
In a notable achievement, the Build Kansas Fund has committed nearly $35 million, with an additional $50 million in projects awaiting federal approval. The total value of funded projects, combining local contributions and federal funds, approaches $140 million, showcasing a remarkable 219% return on investment.

Senator Schallenberger raised concerns about the lack of awareness among local representatives about funding approvals, suggesting a need for better notification systems to ensure legislators are informed about successful applications.
