The Coffee County School Board meeting on April 17, 2025, celebrated significant achievements among local educators and students. The meeting highlighted the recognition of the district-level Teachers of the Year and the outstanding performance of the winter color guard.
During the meeting, Dr. Melanie Banks from East Coffee Elementary was honored as the Pre-K to 4th grade Teacher of the Year. Michelle Feller from Deerfield Elementary received the award for grades 5 to 8, while Josh Barnard Sr. from the high school was recognized as the secondary Teacher of the Year. Additionally, the winter color guard was acknowledged for their impressive accomplishments, having finished first out of 17 groups in their competition and being named Tennessee state champions.
