During the recent Coffee County School Board meeting held on April 17, 2025, the board recognized outstanding educators from various schools within the district. The highlight of the meeting was the announcement of the Teachers of the Year for different grade levels, showcasing the dedication and talent of the teaching staff.

Leslie Waldorf was honored as the Pre-K 4 Teacher of the Year, while Michelle Feller received the same recognition for grades 5-8. At East Coffee, Doctor Melanie Banks was named Pre-K 4 Teacher of the Year, and Justin Biles was acknowledged for grades 5-8. Hickerson Elementary celebrated Mackenzie Taylor as its Pre-K 4 Teacher of the Year and Jana Thompson for grades 5-8.

Hillsborough Elementary recognized Meghan Shores for Pre-K 4 and Tiffany Newman for grades 5-8. New Union's awards went to Shannon Reynolds for Pre-K 4 and Heather Tucker for grades 5-8. North Coffee Elementary honored Allison Driver for Pre-K 4 and Andy Barnard for grades 5-8.

In the secondary category, Coffee County Middle School recognized Emily Daniel for sixth grade, Muhlaysia Pak for seventh grade, and Betty Shelton for eighth grade. The Raider Academy's Teacher of the Year was Sherena Nolan, while Coffee County Central High School honored Josh Barnard for seniors, Lacey Brown, Tisha Jaco, and Brad Jamieson.

This recognition of educators not only highlights individual achievements but also reflects the commitment of Coffee County Schools to fostering a supportive and effective learning environment.
