Oak Harbor Garden Club launches Trex Challenge and plant sale plans

The Oak Harbor Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission convened on April 14, 2025, to discuss several community initiatives and approve key agenda items. The meeting began with the approval of the agenda and minutes from the previous meeting, both of which passed unanimously.

The club has launched the Trex Challenge, aiming to collect 1,000 pounds of non-recyclable plastic wrap over the next year. Chalfant also announced an upcoming plant sale scheduled for May 10, 2025, at a local park, featuring unique plants and hanging baskets. This event aims to engage the community and support local gardening efforts. Additionally, the Garden Club is involved in various beautification projects, including grants for nonprofits and scholarships for high school seniors.
