The Dickinson Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) is ramping up its community engagement efforts with the launch of an educational video series aimed at demystifying the role and processes of Economic Development Corporations (EDCs). During a recent meeting, officials announced that the second video in the series has been released on YouTube, with a third set to follow shortly.

The initiative, spearheaded by DEDC member Dave, is designed to inform residents about the origins and functions of EDCs, including the development processes and investment returns that drive local economic growth. "The goal is to educate and inform the community about what this process looks like, who we are, what we do, and why we exist," a DEDC representative explained.

The videos are accessible on YouTube by searching for "Dickinson EDC" and are also shared on the DEDC's Facebook page. The first video garnered 60 views, and officials are exploring additional platforms to increase visibility and engagement.

In addition to the video series, the DEDC is collaborating with local partners to host an SBA lender panel aimed at supporting small businesses in the area. This initiative responds to community feedback regarding the need for better access to capital, with participation from local banks and economic development organizations.

As the DEDC continues to focus on education and support for local businesses, officials expressed optimism about the positive impact these efforts will have on the community's economic landscape.
