Cannon County honors Good Citizens of the Month and Employee of the Month

During the recent Cannon County Schools Board of Education meeting on April 11, 2025, a heartfelt ceremony recognized the achievements of local students and staff, highlighting the community's commitment to celebrating excellence in education.

The meeting began with a moment of silence, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, setting a respectful tone for the evening. The board then honored the "Good Citizens of the Month" from Cannon County Elementary School. Students from Bobby Ford's and Carter Rogers' classrooms were celebrated for their dedication and progress in learning the Pledge of Allegiance. Principal Emily Lane praised the students for their hard work and the joy they bring to their teachers and peers. Each student received a certificate, and their accomplishments were captured in a group photo with their teachers.

In addition to the student recognition, the board also named Michelle Young as the "Employee of the Month." Nominated by her principal, Angela Causey, Young was commended for her exceptional service at Cannon South. Causey highlighted Young's welcoming demeanor and her willingness to assist wherever needed, emphasizing her vital role in creating a positive environment at the school. The board expressed gratitude for her contributions, reinforcing the importance of supportive staff in the educational community.
