The system was renamed Roswell Transit in 2019. In response to challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the transit service adapted by shifting from scheduled fixed routes to a demand-response service, which has successfully brought ridership back to 77% of pre-pandemic levels.

The mayor also praised Roswell Transit for its response to emergencies, including providing free rides to evacuees during wildfires and offering 8,066 free trips to veterans in 2024, funded by the Chaves County Health Council and Together with Veterans. These efforts, along with innovative service adaptations during the pandemic, contributed to the recognition of Roswell Transit as the Section 5311 System of the Year.
