During the recent Board of Education meeting held on January 16, 2025, the Ogden City School District celebrated the achievements of two outstanding students, Marylee Carden and Anthony Smith, recognizing their hard work and dedication in their respective programs.

Marylee Carden, a student at OTEC High School, was honored as the Student of the Month. She has excelled academically, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while balancing her studies across OTEC High, Ogden High, and the Tech College. Carden has also completed two classes in dental assisting, showcasing her commitment to her future career. In her remarks, she expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by OTEC High, emphasizing the importance of early career exploration.

Similarly, Anthony Smith was recognized as the Ogden Post High Student of the Month for his accomplishments in the culinary arts program. After two years in the program, Smith is set to complete his studies this February, having successfully passed the challenging ServSafe certification exam. His instructors praised his work ethic, determination, and willingness to tackle difficult tasks without complaint. Smith articulated that receiving this award reflects his responsibility and independence, highlighting the significance of hard work in achieving his goals.
