Fair Oaks Ranch Council accepts $2000 donation for police department morale improvement

The City Council of Fair Oaks Ranch made significant strides in enhancing community relations and police morale during its regular meeting on December 19, 2024. A key highlight was the acceptance of a generous $2,000 donation from local residents John and Nomi Lowlade to the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department. This donation will be used to create and display professional photographs of the department's officers within the public safety facility, aimed at fostering a positive workplace atmosphere and enhancing public engagement.

Interim Police Chief Todd Smith presented the donation, emphasizing its importance in boosting officer morale and building trust with the community. The photographs will not only beautify the facility but also serve as a tribute to the dedication and service of the police force. This marks the third consecutive year that the Lowlades have contributed to this initiative, reflecting a strong community commitment to supporting local law enforcement.

In addition to the donation, the council approved several items on the consent agenda, including the minutes from previous meetings and a resolution for an IT assessment with Apollo Information Systems Corporation. They also appointed Ed Barron to the Kendall Appraisal District Board of Directors for a two-year term starting January 1, 2025.

The meeting also included a postponed presentation from Amanda Valdez, president of the Texas Registered Municipal Clerks Association, which will be rescheduled for January.
