Birmingham mayor announces housing expo and wellness day events this April

The mayor also announced a "Spring Festival" scheduled for Sunday, April 13, at Railroad Park from 1 PM to 4 PM. This event will include food trucks, music, face painting, and an Easter egg hunt, inviting all citizens and guests to participate.

A significant presentation was made by Dr. Nathaniel Brooks from UAB's O'Neil Comprehensive Cancer Center, who discussed the upcoming "Regional Wellness Day" on April 17. This event will provide free health screenings for various conditions, including blood pressure, glucose levels, and cancer screenings, in honor of Minority Health Month. Dr. Brooks encouraged council members and the public to attend, aiming for increased participation compared to last year's turnout of 300 attendees.
