City Council approves $500K purchase for Switzer Road improvement project

The Overland Park City Council took a significant step forward in urban development during their April 7, 2025 meeting, approving the purchase of a key property for $500,000. The property, located at 10310 West 170th Terrace, is essential for the Switzer Road improvements project, which aims to enhance the roadway from 167th to 169th Street.

While such agreements typically fall under the director's purview, this particular case required council approval because the city needs to finalize the purchase before the property owners can close on another property by April 23, 2025.
