Landmark Commission reviews new garage design for corner lot on Park Road

The task force provided supportive feedback, noting that the garage's visibility from both Park Road and Malcolm X could prompt public comments. They also highlighted the need for updated elevation drawings to address symmetry and geometry concerns on the facade.

Additional points of discussion included the absence of a visible fireplace chimney, which required clarification, and the fenestration on the Malcolm X side of the building. The commission suggested using different materials, such as wood, for the living room windows to better integrate with neighboring structures.

Finally, the commission reviewed the foundation height, proposing a slab on grade that is a foot above ground, in line with local examples. They also advised that the design drawings include a fence to complete the project.
