A new anti-vaping initiative is taking center stage at Coronado Middle School as the school kicks off Anti Vape Week. Principal Miss Vilar announced that students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades will engage with educational videos over the next three days, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of vaping.

In her address, Miss Vilar emphasized the importance of this initiative, thanking counselors and interns for their efforts in creating the program. “It’s really important,” she stated, highlighting the school’s commitment to student health and well-being.

As the school year approaches its final quarter, Miss Vilar also reminded students about upcoming state testing, known as CASP testing, which will require a special schedule. She urged all students to bring their charged school devices for necessary updates this Friday, ensuring everyone is prepared for the assessments.

She cautioned against negative behaviors, reminding eighth graders that referrals could jeopardize their participation in end-of-year activities.
