Seattle Council prioritizes automated enforcement cameras and sky bridge construction

During a recent Transportation Committee meeting on April 1, 2025, Seattle City Council members discussed significant advancements in automated enforcement technology aimed at enhancing public safety on the roads. The committee also discussed the upcoming presentation by the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), which will provide an overview of the current state of automated enforcement cameras and preview forthcoming city legislation. In addition to automated enforcement, the committee revisited Resolution 32,166, which pertains to the construction of a sky bridge connecting Districts 3 and 7. While constructing sky bridges is generally uncommon in Seattle, council members expressed strong support for this project, viewing it as a valuable addition to the city’s transportation infrastructure.
