Woodland Park declares May 5-9 as National Small Business Week celebration

Woodland Park City Council has officially declared the week of May 5 through May 9, 2025, as National Small Business Week, celebrating the vital role of small businesses in the community and economy. This proclamation highlights the contributions of entrepreneurs who drive local growth and innovation, marking over 18 years of the Pikes Peak region's Small Business Week.

Debbie Miller, a representative from the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center, emphasized the significance of this week, themed "Legacy of the Peak." The event will honor visionary business leaders and provide opportunities for networking, learning, and growth. Awards will be presented in various categories, including Young Entrepreneur and Small Business Champion, recognizing the resilience and impact of local businesses.

The proclamation underscores that small businesses represent 99.5% of all businesses in Colorado and employ nearly half of the state's workforce. It acknowledges the efforts of local organizations, including the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and the Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, in supporting business development and fostering a strong economic environment.

As Woodland Park prepares for this celebration, the city council encourages community members to participate in the events, which will feature workshops and discussions aimed at enhancing business success.
