Tempe Youth with Disabilities Council reviews advocacy goals and resources

The Tempe City Council held a work study session on April 3, 2025, focusing on various community initiatives and future agenda items. The meeting began with an update from Council Member Hodge regarding the subcommittee for increased advocacy for Tempe Youth with Disabilities. Hodge reported that the subcommittee had its fifth meeting on March 28, where they discussed efforts by the Arizona Association of People Supporting Employment First to promote inclusive workforce initiatives statewide. The subcommittee is also revising its goal-setting priorities in light of recent budget cuts at the federal level and is in the final stages of developing a resource guide for the community.

Next, Council Member Amberg provided an update on the revitalization of Tempe Town Lake, noting that the subcommittee's next meeting is scheduled for the following Wednesday, where further details will be shared.

The council then moved to discuss future agenda items. Councilor Bahatch requested that a report from the city’s demographer regarding school district demographics be added to a future session, emphasizing the importance of understanding development trends in the city.
