Currently, 8 to 12 farms are participating, and the EIC plans to refine its outreach strategies to increase this number. In addition to economic initiatives, the Mosquito Bateman District Council presented their collaborative efforts with the Conservation Commission to address mosquito control in environmentally friendly ways. They are exploring integrated pest management strategies, including beneficial plantings to attract natural mosquito predators and considering the use of natural mosquito sprays at local festivals. This approach aims to balance public health needs with environmental protection, reflecting a commitment to sustainable practices.

The council emphasized the importance of adapting to the changing demographics of Charlestown, particularly as more retirees with disposable income move to the area. This shift presents opportunities for local businesses to cater to new residents' expectations for services and amenities.
