Burrill Town Council approves $100K for Burwell Sports Complex operations

Burrillville Town Council made significant strides in its latest meeting, approving the establishment of a dedicated fund for the Burrill Sports Complex and appointing Colonel Steven Lynch as the acting town manager.

The council unanimously voted to create Fund 1397, specifically designed to manage costs associated with operations, maintenance, and capital expenses for the Levy Rink and any future sports facilities. This initiative includes a transfer of $100,000 from the general fund to support the new sports complex fund. Council members expressed gratitude for the thorough preparation by Finance Director Lively McGovern, which facilitated the decision-making process.

In another key decision, the council appointed Colonel Steven Lynch to serve as acting town manager during the absence of current Town Manager Michael Seymour, effective until December 31, 2026. This appointment aims to ensure continuity in leadership and operations within the town.
