Garcia also acknowledged Barbara's family, including her husband of 46 years and their two sons, both of whom have served in the military. One son is a judge, while the other holds a PhD in mechanical engineering. He expressed admiration for Barbara's pride in her family and her commitment to her work, concluding with warm congratulations on her milestone.

Following Garcia, the chief of the division shared personal anecdotes about their friendship and expressed gratitude for Barbara's hard work and dedication. Barbara herself took a moment to thank her family and friends, referring to her colleagues as a second family.

The ceremony included a video tribute from the mayor's office, recognizing Barbara's significant contributions to Miami-Dade County and underscoring the value of its employees. The video conveyed appreciation for their hard work and commitment to serving the community.

The event concluded with a call for family members to join Barbara for a group photo, capturing the celebratory spirit of the occasion. The next honoree, Tammy Rozier, was introduced as the meeting continued.
