The Taunton School Committee held its Recognition Night on March 26, 2025, celebrating the outstanding contributions of staff members at Elizabeth Pohl Elementary School. The event highlighted the dedication and impact of various educators and support staff, particularly focusing on the school’s nurses and newcomer staff.

During the meeting, the contributions of nurses Julie and Solange were emphasized. They were praised for their unwavering support for students and staff, providing care and comfort in both everyday situations and emergencies. Their quick response during a recent incident involving a pre-kindergarten student experiencing a severe allergic reaction showcased their professionalism and commitment, earning them the title of "unsung heroes" of the school.

The recognition also extended to the newcomer staff, including Piero Buscaglia, Sue Caramello, Carrie Hebert, Jen LaRose, Sue Matson, Celia Matosa, and Christine Sullivan. Principal Annabella Jones commended their efforts in creating a nurturing environment for newcomer students, which has led to significant improvements in academic performance. The staff's dedication to building connections and fostering a sense of belonging was highlighted as a key factor in the students' success.
