The DeSoto community gathered on March 29, 2025, to celebrate the city’s 76th birthday, marking a significant milestone in its history. The event was filled with reverence and pride, beginning with a prayer led by Council Member Pastor Andre Byrd, who expressed gratitude for the city’s growth and prosperity over the years.

Following the prayer, the celebration included the Pledge of Allegiance, led by former homecoming queen Kathy Jones, reinforcing a sense of unity and patriotism among attendees.
