San Felipe del Rio CISD honors local businesses for community support

The San Felipe-Del Rio CISD Board of Trustees held a significant meeting on March 24, 2025, where they recognized local businesses for their vital support of public education. The meeting, attended by a full quorum of board members, began with a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance, setting a respectful tone for the evening.

During the meeting, Amy Childress from the Texas Association of School Boards presented the "Businesses Standing Up for Public Schools" recognition program. This initiative celebrates local businesses that contribute to the educational community, highlighting their role in providing resources and opportunities for students.

A total of 20 businesses were honored for their contributions, including Amistad Funeral Home, Porter Federal Credit Union, Chick-fil-A, and Walmart, among others. Each business received a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging their commitment to supporting the district's programs and initiatives.
