Forest Park launches Elevate workforce program and finalizes Main Street property sale

The Forest Park Development Authority meeting on March 26, 2025, highlighted significant updates in economic development and community initiatives. Additionally, Dennis revealed the upcoming launch of "Elevate," a workforce development program in partnership with the Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency. The program will officially open on April 18, 2025, at the Little Caesars shopping plaza, aiming to support job seekers in the community.

The meeting also addressed the collaboration with the Small Business Development Center at Clayton State University, which has been offering free one-on-one business consulting sessions. This initiative aims to assist local businesses in various aspects, including finance and marketing.

Dennis discussed the ongoing redevelopment of the Farmers Market, which presents both challenges and opportunities. While some businesses may need to relocate due to infrastructure improvements, there is a waiting list of potential new vendors interested in joining the market. Dennis expressed a desire to connect these vendors with available spaces in Forest Park.

Lastly, the meeting included an invitation to the upcoming Arte Grama gala, a fundraising event for Arts Clayton, scheduled for the following Saturday. The Development Authority is sponsoring the event and encourages community members to attend.
