Penridge School Board approves new athletics director and middle school principal

The Pennridge School Board meeting on March 24, 2025, showcased significant advancements in the district's leadership and student engagement initiatives. The board unanimously approved the appointment of Henry Hunt as the new Director of Athletics and Activities, effective July 1, 2025, at a salary of $130,000. Hunt, who previously directed athletics at Central Bucks School District, brings a wealth of experience overseeing 50 teams across 26 sports and fostering community relationships.

Board members expressed enthusiasm for Hunt's leadership skills and commitment to student athletes, highlighting his innovative approach to enhancing team administration and parent engagement through technology. In addition to Hunt's appointment, the board also approved Abraham Hughes as the new principal of Central Middle School, effective July 1, 2025, with a salary of $161,914. Hughes, currently the high school house principal, has a strong background in instructional leadership and is pursuing a doctorate in education leadership. His experience managing a diverse student body and coordinating assessments positions him well for his new role.

The meeting also saw the approval of a new student activity club, further enriching the extracurricular landscape for students.
