Waterville announces Easter scavenger hunt with local prizes and activities

The City of Waterville is gearing up for a festive Easter celebration with an exciting scavenger hunt and egg hunt planned for the community. Terry Masucci announced during the recent city meeting that the Easter scavenger hunt will run from March 21 to April 11, involving 20 local businesses that will each hide an egg with a number on it. Children can pick up an entry form at the Waterville Library and, upon finding all the eggs, will receive a small treat for their efforts.

The main event, the Easter egg hunt, is scheduled for April 12 at Conrad Park in the Recreation Building, starting at 10:00 AM. Families can look forward to free donuts, hot chocolate, and a variety of activities. This year, the event will feature local bakers, including Joya Sweets, Sugared and Spun, and Saucy Bites, who will provide delicious treats for attendees.

In a new twist, the egg hunt will include prize eggs for different age categories—0 to 2, 3 to 5, 6 to 8, and 8 and up—offering special prizes for those who find them. Additionally, all participants will receive an ice cream coupon from Sweet Retreats, courtesy of Councilman Wayne Wagner.

The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance, mingling with children and providing fun photo opportunities, along with tattoos and stickers. For adults, there will be a drawing for an Easter basket filled with goodies, adding to the community spirit of the event.

This year’s Easter festivities not only promise fun for families but also highlight the involvement of local businesses, fostering a sense of community and support in Waterville.
