Student representatives from High School South took the spotlight at the WW-P Board Meeting on March 20, 2025, sharing exciting updates about school activities and achievements. Anna Chen and Rachel Joseph highlighted the successful conclusion of winter sports and the anticipation surrounding spring sports tryouts, which recently wrapped up. They proudly announced that the girls' 4x400 sprint team set a new indoor school record at the New Balance Nationals, finishing 25th with a time of 3:58.79.
The representatives also discussed a recent basketball game hosted by the United program, fostering camaraderie between North and South students. In addition, they noted the successful dodgeball tournament organized by both student councils, which saw enthusiastic participation.
Looking ahead, the students shared plans for upcoming events, including a Holi celebration hosted by the South Asian American Student Association and the junior prom at the aquarium. Meanwhile, High School North celebrated its basketball team's impressive season, which ended with a record of 23 wins and 6 losses, marking it as the best in the school's history. Coach Beasley was recognized as the Colonial Valley Conference Coach of the Year.
As the meeting transitioned, Superintendent Dr. Dave Aderhold presented the tentative budget for the 2025-2026 school year, signaling a new phase of planning for the district.
