Mimi's Cafe in East Greenwich has received approval for a limited beverage license, allowing the establishment to serve beer and wine during breakfast and lunch. The Town Council unanimously supported the application during their meeting on September 30, 2024, highlighting the cafe's commitment to enhancing its menu and customer experience.
Owner Mister Carr expressed gratitude for the community's support since opening a few months ago. He explained that the addition of alcoholic beverages, such as mimosas and classic beers, would not only attract more customers but also complement their breakfast and lunch offerings. The cafe currently operates until 2 PM daily, with plans to extend hours if business continues to grow.
The council noted that the application was in good standing, with no objections received from the public. A letter of endorsement from a local customer further solidified the cafe's reputation as a family-oriented business dedicated to the community.
In addition to the beverage license, the council also discussed a new business application for Luxe Lemon, a lemonade truck turned community-focused business. Owner Jessica Simone shared her journey of using the truck to raise funds for local schools and support community initiatives, particularly in the wake of COVID-19.
The approval of Mimi's Cafe's beverage license marks a significant step in the establishment's growth, promising to enhance the dining experience for patrons and contribute positively to the local economy. The council's support reflects a commitment to fostering local businesses and encouraging community engagement.
