Kirkland Community Foundation announces For the Love of Kirkland event with Peter Kageyama

Kirkland is set to strengthen community ties with the upcoming event "For the Love of Kirkland," aimed at enhancing residents' emotional connection to their city. Scheduled for April 10, the event will feature Peter Kageyama, author of "For the Love of Cities," who will facilitate discussions among community members about fostering local pride and engagement.

Carmen Dalziel, the executive director of the newly renamed Kirkland Community Foundation, emphasized the importance of grassroots involvement in shaping the future of Kirkland. "This event invites residents to be co-creators in their community," she stated, highlighting the need for collective action and shared identity. With 50 spots still available, Dalziel encourages residents to register and participate in small group discussions that will explore actionable ideas for community improvement.

In addition to this significant event, the Kirkland City Council recently approved letters of support for King County Metro's rapid K line and discussed various initiatives, including the city's electric leaf blower program and low-income support measures.
