Hudson City Council has announced significant developments regarding a new bridge project set to enhance local infrastructure. The bridge, located approximately 2,300 feet south of Hines Hill, is scheduled for construction between 2028 and 2030. City officials assured residents that the project will minimize disruption to the Pineshill area, with only occasional construction vehicles crossing the railroad.

The bridge will be designed to meet safety standards, requiring a height of at least 32 feet above the railroad. A rendering of the bridge is expected to be released within the next month, providing the public with a visual representation of the project.

In addition to the bridge, discussions included the potential for a roundabout at the intersection of Prospect and Hines Hill. This design aims to improve traffic flow and safety, featuring two bike lanes and two sidewalks, along with three lanes over the bridge to accommodate future construction needs.

The city successfully secured $13.07 million in funding for this project, making Hudson the only agency in Ohio to receive such support. This funding was part of a competitive process where local projects were often overlooked in favor of those submitted by state agencies. City officials expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the importance of the bridge for emergency services and overall community safety.
