City Council approves landscape plans for Tig 5 oil change and Integrity Infusion

The Peachtree City Planning Commission convened on November 18, 2024, to discuss two significant landscape plans that aim to enhance the community's aesthetic and environmental standards.

The first proposal, presented by Warren from All South, involves a landscape plan for a new Take 5 Oil Change facility and Caribou Coffee at 2714 Highway 54 West. The plan meets city ordinances and Georgia 54 West design guidelines, focusing on transforming a previously rundown car shop into a more visually appealing site. The design includes a mix of plant materials and a safety fence atop a retaining wall to address height concerns. Commissioners expressed their approval, noting the positive impact the landscaping would have on the area, which has been described as one of the least attractive in terms of landscaping. The commission unanimously approved the landscape plan, signaling a commitment to improving local aesthetics and community pride.

The second proposal discussed was for the Integrity Infusion expansion at 290 Parkade Court. This project, located in a General Industrial zone, presented challenges in meeting tree planting requirements due to the site's size and intended use. The plan proposed to plant 50% of the required canopy and understory trees, with the remainder to be contributed to the tree fund as an alternative compliance method. The commission acknowledged the constraints of the industrial zoning and the necessity of stormwater management in the design. Staff recommended approval, and the commission is expected to consider the proposal in light of the community's environmental goals.
