The Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD) celebrated outstanding educators and staff during its Governing Board meeting on January 15, 2025, highlighting the impact of dedicated individuals on students and the community. The event featured the annual "I'm Invested Awards," a collaboration with Landings Credit Union, recognizing exceptional contributions from district employees.
This year, nine individuals were honored for their remarkable achievements. Jennifer Bravo, an English teacher at Desert Vista High School, received the "I'm Influential Award" for her leadership and commitment to student success, particularly in advancing AP language courses. Trent Elliott, also recognized in this category, was acknowledged for his supportive role as a coach and educator, although he was unable to attend due to a soccer game.

Subscribe for Free The "I'm a Shining Star Award" went to Aubrey Glazier, a second-year economics teacher at Mountain Point High School, for her innovative teaching methods and leadership in financial literacy initiatives. Noah Huerta, the district's digital media coordinator, was also honored for enhancing the district's social media presence and fostering community engagement.
The "I'm Distinguished Service Award" recognized Scott Werner, a long-serving music educator, for his contributions to the percussion program at Corona del Sol, and Sarah Morovitz, a dropout prevention coordinator, for her dedication to student success and community support.
John Cook and Julie Duarte received the "I'm Extraordinary Award" for their exceptional commitment to student learning and support in math and English language education, respectively. Finally, Sean McDonald was presented with the newly created "I'm Indispensable Award" for his nearly 30 years of service and significant contributions to school safety and community collaboration.
