Coral Springs has officially proclaimed April 22, 2025, as Earth Day and April 25, 2025, as Arbor Day, marking a commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. The announcement was made during the recent city commission meeting, where officials highlighted the importance of these observances in promoting ecological awareness.

As part of the celebrations, the city will host its annual Earth Fest event at the Sawgrass Nature Center from 9 AM to 12 PM. This event aims to bring the community together to celebrate nature and learn about the benefits of environmental stewardship. The tradition of Arbor Day, which began in the 1800s in Nebraska, emphasizes the significance of tree planting and its role in combating climate change.

Commissioners expressed gratitude to the environmental sustainability committee for their efforts in maintaining Coral Springs as a Tree City USA for the past 40 years.
