During the recent Neenah City Council meeting, Tanner Ader was honored with a life-saving award for his heroic actions during a vehicle accident on January 20, 2025. Chief Olsen of the Neenah Police Department presented the award, highlighting Ader's quick response when he heard a crash that resulted in a vehicle overturning and catching fire.
Ader, who was nearby at the time, rushed to the scene and used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. He then assisted a Winnebago County Deputy in rescuing the driver and passenger from the burning vehicle. Chief Olsen emphasized that Ader's actions were crucial in saving the lives of the occupants, noting that many bystanders did not stop to help during the emergency.
In his acceptance speech, Ader expressed gratitude to his parents for instilling in him the values of kindness and community service. He encouraged others to step up and help those in need, regardless of their familiarity with the individuals involved.
