In a heartwarming ceremony held at Margate City Hall, the city recognized outstanding students and teachers during its regular commission meeting on March 5, 2025. The event celebrated the achievements of young scholars and dedicated educators from various local schools, emphasizing character and community spirit over mere academic performance.
The evening began with Nathan Cohen from Abundant Life Christian Academy being honored as the Student of the Month. Described as a joyful presence in the classroom, Nathan's willingness to assist classmates and teachers alike earned him accolades. He received a certificate of recognition, a challenge coin from the police department, and a $10 Walmart gift card, among other prizes.
Following Nathan, the spotlight turned to Erica Ruiz from Blana Quest Elementary, who was recognized for her selflessness and dedication in class. Her teacher, Miss Peters, also received accolades for her positive impact on students. Each honoree was presented with similar awards, including certificates and gift cards, celebrating their hard work and commitment to their education.
The ceremony continued with Jace Rydell from Broward Math and Science Schools, who was praised for his respectful demeanor and enthusiasm for learning. His teacher, Miss Solmaz, was acknowledged for her exceptional teaching methods and support for students.
