The Alma School Board meeting on February 1, 2025, highlighted several key achievements and initiatives within the district, focusing on staff recognition and career and technical education (CTE) programs.
The meeting began with heartfelt acknowledgments of outstanding staff members. Michelle, a front office staff member, was praised for her welcoming demeanor and ability to handle the busy environment, especially during peak times like bus arrivals. Her efforts to make students feel special were noted, as she often engages with them personally. Lauren Wakefield, another staff member, received commendations for her dedication and ability to connect with every student, knowing their names and backgrounds. The choir directors, Tiffany and Keith Reeves, were also recognized for their exceptional work in music education, achieving top placements in regional competitions and contributing positively to the school culture through various extracurricular activities.
Following the staff recognitions, the meeting shifted focus to the importance of CTE programs in the district.
