Hinesville plans $226K upgrade for downtown security camera system

A new proposal from a company based in LaGrange, Georgia, has emerged, offering a comprehensive package for $226,000. This includes the installation of 108 cameras, featuring advanced technology such as pan-tilt-zoom capabilities and night vision. The proposal promises to cover all necessary areas, particularly those prone to nighttime activity.

The funding strategy for this project involves utilizing $50,000 from the public school safety program, as the upgrade aligns with law enforcement security needs. Additional funding will come from sales tax revenues designated for public safety equipment. The new system is designed to be sustainable, with no ongoing maintenance costs, allowing for future expansions without significant financial burdens.
