Chris Laferla outlines Council Bluffs Chamber's strategic growth and community initiatives

The Chamber currently serves over 700 businesses and nonprofit organizations, providing support through various programs aimed at business retention and workforce development. Laferla highlighted initiatives such as the relaunch of the Young Professionals Network and ongoing projects to revitalize underutilized properties in the community.

During the meeting, Laferla shared strategic goals for 2025, which include economic growth, population growth, and improving quality of life. He noted the need for a collaborative approach among local organizations to effectively address these goals. Laferla also discussed the importance of planning for future population growth, referencing historical data that shows Council Bluffs has not seen significant population increases compared to the Omaha Metropolitan Area.

The Chamber plans to host informational sessions for its members regarding potential developments, such as a project at Dodge Park, which could enhance housing options and contribute to economic growth. Laferla concluded by expressing the Chamber's commitment to partnering with the city and other stakeholders to foster community development.
