During the recent Calistoga City Council meeting, significant developments in local projects were discussed, highlighting the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance community infrastructure and housing options.
One of the most notable projects is the Calistoga Hills resort, currently under construction on 88 acres. This high-end resort will feature 110 units, alongside 20 residential units and 13 custom residences, with an anticipated opening by the end of 2027. This project aims to boost local tourism and provide upscale accommodations for visitors.
Another key initiative is the Resiliency Center at the end of Washington, which is nearing completion. This community-scale microgrid is the first of its kind globally and is expected to enhance energy resilience for local residents.
The council also reviewed several housing projects aimed at addressing the community's need for affordable living options. The Lincoln Avenue apartment project will provide 78 units of 100% affordable housing on a 2.9-acre site. Additionally, the Silverrod Terrace project will offer multifamily housing, with 20% of its units designated as affordable.
The Calistoga Motor Lodge has recently expanded by 39 units, which is expected to significantly increase the city’s transient occupancy tax revenue. Meanwhile, the Cinnabar Grove project will introduce 15 market-rate single-family homes, contributing to the diversity of housing options in the area.
Looking ahead, the council discussed several upcoming projects, including the Quarterm Ranch subdivision, which will feature 20 lots, and the Indian Springs expansion, which aims to add 97 hotel rooms and various amenities. These developments reflect the city’s commitment to growth and improving the quality of life for its residents.
As these projects progress, they are expected to play a crucial role in shaping Calistoga’s future, addressing both housing needs and enhancing community resources. The council remains focused on fostering development that aligns with the community's goals and aspirations.
