Library District proposes referendum to expand services and hours on April 1 ballot

However, the costs associated with these digital services are significantly higher than traditional print materials. For instance, while a physical copy of a popular book may cost around $20, the e-book version can reach up to $80, with restrictions on usage that necessitate repurchasing after a certain number of checkouts.

The financial implications of the referendum were also discussed. If approved, the average homeowner in the district, valued at approximately $235,000, would see an increase of about $20 per year in their taxes. The additional funds would be allocated to the library's budget starting July 1, 2026, should the measure pass.
