During a recent broadcast from Coronado Unified, school officials celebrated students demonstrating core values of respect, ownership, and integrity. Recognitions were given to seventh grader Asher and eighth grader Ashley Horton for their commendable behavior, highlighting the importance of character in the school community.
As the school year approaches its conclusion, with only 77 days left, eighth graders are gearing up for a series of exciting activities, including a field trip to SeaWorld, an eighth-grade dance, breakfast, and a promotion ceremony. However, school administrators emphasized that participation in these events hinges on adherence to school rules.
A new contract will be implemented for the eighth-grade class, outlining disciplinary measures that could affect students' eligibility for these activities. Specifically, students who receive two discipline referrals before the SeaWorld trip on May 13 will be barred from attending. This pattern continues, with additional referrals leading to exclusion from the dance, breakfast, and ultimately the promotion ceremony.
School officials stressed the significance of these events as privileges, urging students to maintain good behavior to enjoy their final months of middle school. The message was clear: following the rules is essential for a successful and enjoyable end to the school year.
