Berks County officials recently engaged with local students and community members in a series of educational and outreach activities aimed at fostering civic awareness and engagement. During a visit to Riverside Elementary, members of the America 250 PA team participated in reading sessions with kindergarten and first-grade students. The initiative featured a book titled "K is for Keystone," which highlights Pennsylvania's history and culture, including fun references like Punxsutawney Phil and Milton Hershey.
The event was well-received, with students enjoying the interactive reading experience and accompanying coloring sheets. Special recognition was given to Andre Castillo from America 250 PA for his organizational efforts, as well as to Slapshot, the Reading Royals mascot, who engaged with students as they arrived.
