Brunswick County Schools is set to enhance support for students pursuing careers in special education with the introduction of the KTJ Exceptional Children Peer Support Scholarship. During the Board of Education meeting on December 3, 2024, Miss Quinlan announced that the scholarship, proposed by Miss Judah and her husband Mister West, will provide a total of $10,000 in funding, awarded in increments of $1,000 to a graduating senior interested in special education or related fields.

The scholarship is inspired by their daughter, Katie, who has been a source of inspiration for many through her experiences with peer mentoring during high school. Miss Judah highlighted the importance of peer support in helping students with different abilities navigate the challenges of high school.
