Commissioners plan January meeting on homelessness at Community Resource Center

The Saline County Commission has scheduled an important meeting focused on homelessness for January 13, 2025, at the Community Resource Center on Broadway. This meeting, led by Celina Grace, aims to foster more in-depth discussions and gather community input, moving beyond previous informational sessions. Commissioner participation is encouraged, with one commissioner already volunteering to attend.

In addition to the homelessness initiative, the commission discussed the annual allocation of alcohol funds. Two commissioners have agreed to review the allocations and will present their findings to the commission after the new year.

The commission also highlighted the need for collaboration with city officials regarding budget discussions, particularly in light of upcoming changes in city administration. Efforts are underway to schedule a meeting with city leaders in late February or early March to address these budgetary concerns.

As the year comes to a close, the commission reminded residents that county offices will be closed on New Year's Day, wishing everyone a safe celebration. These discussions reflect the commission's ongoing commitment to addressing community issues and enhancing collaboration with local stakeholders.
