The remaining $1.35 million is recommended for the police department to address increased policing needs at MGM and National Harbor, where costs have previously exceeded $1.7 million.
Council members raised questions regarding the allocation process, particularly the necessity of adhering to the 25% requirement for Crossland High School. Miss Benoit emphasized the importance of clearly delineating the funds in the budget drafts to ensure compliance with both county and state regulations.
