Students at John Stark Regional School District are showing a positive outlook as they transition into the new semester, according to a recent survey presented at the JSD School Board meeting on February 7, 2025. The survey, conducted by a student representative, revealed that over half of the respondents expressed enjoyment in their classes, with 53% reporting a positive experience.

The survey highlighted that the majority of participants were sophomores, reflecting the largest class size in the school. Notably, while 50% of students enjoyed their classes, 25% felt indifferent, indicating a generally favorable sentiment towards the academic environment.

Looking ahead, students expressed excitement for the upcoming semester, particularly regarding new classes and school events such as dances. The survey also noted a strong interest in arts and music programs, as well as student aiding opportunities, which received significant praise from participants.

In terms of class selection, approximately 75% of students retained their current classes, while 25% opted to drop one. Importantly, those who made changes reported a smooth and comfortable process, suggesting that students feel supported in managing their academic schedules.

Extracurricular involvement was another positive takeaway, with a majority of students participating in clubs, sports, or plays. Only 27.9% reported not engaging in any extracurricular activities, indicating a vibrant school culture.
