The Lombard Village Board of Trustees made significant strides in promoting local tourism during their recent meeting, approving multiple grant requests aimed at enhancing community events.

The board greenlit a substantial $25,000 grant for the Lombard Lilac Festival Parade, scheduled for May 18, 2025. This funding will cover various expenses, including honorariums for participants and advertising costs, ensuring the parade's success and visibility.

In addition, the Lombard Garden Club received a $2,000 grant to support their lilac sale event on May 8, 2025. This funding will help cover the purchase of lilacs and necessary supplies like pots and labels.

The Lombard Junior Women's Club was also awarded $10,000 for their Lilac Princess program, which runs from March through June 18, 2025. This grant will assist with scholarships for the Lilac Court and the costs associated with the 95th Lilac Court Reunion.

Further supporting local culture, the Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce received $5,000 for the Lilac Times Arts and Crafts Fair on May 4, 2025, which will help cover village services, including public works and safety measures.

Lastly, another $5,000 grant was approved for the Lombard Farmers Market, running from May 20 to October 7, 2025. This funding will facilitate necessary public works overtime for barricades and advertising efforts.
