Cooper City’s Special Magistrate Code Enforcement meeting on February 5, 2025, addressed several property violations, emphasizing the city’s commitment to maintaining community standards.
Inspector Michael Giordano reported on a case involving a property at 4997 Southwest 95 Avenue, owned by Orlando Camacho. The property was found to have a deteriorating rear concrete masonry wall that required repairs, cleaning, and repainting. Despite previous notifications sent via certified and regular mail, no action had been taken by the owner. As a result, the magistrate ruled that a violation exists, imposing a $150 administrative fee and a 30-day compliance period. If the owner fails to comply within this timeframe, a daily fine of $50 will be enforced until the issue is resolved.
Another case discussed involved EIO Home Investment, LLC, regarding a property at 4951 Southwest 88 Terrace. The property was cited for installing wood fencing without the necessary building permit. Inspector Giordano requested the case be closed, noting that the home had been sold before the inspection, and the property appraiser's website had not been updated. The current owner is now in communication with the inspector to rectify the situation and ensure compliance.
These discussions highlight the ongoing efforts of Cooper City officials to uphold property standards and ensure that residents adhere to local regulations. The outcomes of these cases serve as a reminder of the importance of compliance and the potential consequences of neglecting property maintenance.
