Timberlane athletes shine in winter sports while high school alumni share college experiences

The Timberlane Regional School District held a meeting on January 23, 2025, where various updates on school sports and activities were shared, highlighting the vibrant extracurricular landscape within the district.

The meeting began with a sports update from Timberlane High School, showcasing the resilience and achievements of student-athletes across multiple teams. The boys' hockey team faced a challenging loss against Saint Thomas Aquinas but demonstrated commendable effort. In contrast, the girls' gymnastics team is gearing up for their second meet, coinciding with their senior night on January 27. The girls' basketball team celebrated a significant victory over Pelham, while the boys' basketball team had mixed results, winning two out of three games during their Christmas tournament despite a recent loss.

Winter track athletes excelled at a meet held at Phillips Exeter, with many achieving personal records. The ski team continued its competitive season at Pass Peak, and the unified basketball team kicked off their season with a game against Pinkerton. The swim team is also performing well, with several athletes qualifying for the state meet.

In addition to sports, the meeting highlighted educational initiatives. Seven alumni from the class of 2024 returned to share their college experiences with current students, providing valuable insights into post-secondary life. The health and wellness class participated in a self-defense session led by local law enforcement, emphasizing the district's commitment to student safety and well-being.

Atkinson Academy and Danville School also showcased their winter concerts, allowing students to display their musical talents. Atkinson Academy's jumbo club and the "Let's Get Moving" program are engaging students in physical activities, promoting health and community involvement.
