The Wright County Board of Supervisors held a meeting on December 2, 2024, where they discussed several key funding requests and infrastructure projects.
One of the main topics was the board's request for funding, which included $1,200,000 for a new business park and $215,000 for a wind farm project. Additionally, they sought the maximum amount available for renewing existing projects.
The board also reviewed bids for the replacement of Bridge 210, located on C70. This project involves replacing a 240-foot triple span concrete beam bridge. Six bids were submitted, with the lowest bid coming in at $1,737,108.61. The funding for this bridge replacement will be primarily sourced from a grant, with 80% covered by the Raise Grant and the remainder from the Farm to Market Fund. A motion was made by Supervisor Clue and seconded by Supervisor Rasmussen to award the contract to the lowest bidder, Peterson Contractors Inc. from Verend Beck, Iowa. The motion passed unanimously.
In addition to these discussions, Supervisor Lemons provided an update on secondary road maintenance, noting that 24 work orders were completed in the past week. Blade operators have been actively patrolling the roads to ensure they are in good condition.
The meeting highlighted the board's ongoing commitment to infrastructure development and maintenance in Wright County.
