Trenton City Council welcomes three new members in swearing-in ceremony

The Trenton City Council held its Swearing-In and Reorganization Meeting on January 2, 2025, marking a significant transition for the local government. The meeting commenced with the official oath of office, where newly elected council members affirmed their commitment to serve the community and uphold the Constitution of the United States and the State of New Jersey.

The first to take the oath was a member of the council, who solemnly affirmed to perform all duties impartially and justly. Following this, Stephanie Crispy was sworn in, echoing the same commitment to her responsibilities as a council member. Joseph Harrison followed suit, repeating the oath and pledging allegiance to the governing bodies of the United States and New Jersey.

The final member to be sworn in was Jennifer Williams, who also affirmed her dedication to the duties of the Trenton City Council. Each member's oath emphasized their responsibility to act under the authority of the people and to the best of their abilities.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the municipal clerk, Brandon Garcia, conducted a roll call to confirm the presence of the newly sworn council members, which included Councilwoman Evans, Councilwoman Gonzales, Councilman Harrison, and Councilwoman Williams.

The meeting underscored a fresh start for the council as they prepare to address the needs and concerns of the Trenton community in the upcoming term. The next steps for the council will involve setting priorities and establishing agendas to guide their work in the coming months.
